Operations Engineer 

Alex applies her expertise in project and asset management to optimize production and ensure SSES managed run-of-river hydro facilities remain fully compliant with environmental regulations. She oversees operations at the Skookum Creek, Upper Mamquam, Wedgemount Creek, and Brandywine Creek hydro facilities, leading maintenance and capital improvement projects to support safe, efficient, and reliable performance. She supports the operations team by coordinating contractors and overseeing project execution to help ensure efficient collaboration and smooth facility operations. 

Alex earned her Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Victoria, where she participated in the co-op education program. During her studies, she completed several co-op placements with the SSES, gaining hands-on experience in hydro facility operations, maintenance, and project coordination before returning to join the team full time after graduation.
